For years, patients in North Raleigh knew us as Family EyeCare Center. As the practice grew, our care evolved beyond comprehensive eye exams to include advanced eye health evaluations, specialty contact lens care, myopia management, and personalized optical services.
In 2026, Family EyeCare Center became Greenway Vision Studio. The new name reflects the practice we are today while preserving what patients already know: Dr. Jeffrey Handschumacher and the same team continue to provide care at the same North Raleigh location.
Greenway Vision Studio carries that history forward as an independent practice focused on personal relationships, advanced eye care, and services tailored to each patient’s needs.

Digital retinal imaging and optical coherence tomography (OCT) give Dr. Handschumacher detailed views of structures inside the eye, helping him evaluate your eye health and identify changes that may require attention.
Patients with keratoconus, irregular corneas, and other conditions may struggle to achieve comfortable, clear vision with conventional contact lenses. Greenway Vision Studio provides advanced contact lens evaluations and personalized fittings to find options suited to each patient’s eyes.
Myopia, or nearsightedness, can progress as children grow. Our myopia management services are designed to help slow that progression while supporting clear vision throughout childhood. Dr. Handschumacher monitors changes over time and recommends options based on each child’s vision and needs.

Jeffrey Handschumacher, O.D., leads Greenway Vision Studio with a personal approach to eye care built around consistency, clear communication, and long-term relationships. Patients see Dr. Handschumacher in person, giving him the opportunity to become familiar with their vision, eye health, and individual needs from one visit to the next.
His approach combines comprehensive eye care with advanced services, including specialty contact lens care for patients with keratoconus and irregular corneas and myopia management for children.
Dr. Handschumacher also volunteers with Remote Area Medical (RAM), helping provide no-cost eye care to people in surrounding communities who may otherwise have limited access to care.
